Hi! My name is Miss Walbert.
I am starting a new blog that will hopefully be useful in my career as an elementary school teacher. It is simply an assignment for class now, but there are many potential benefits for my career such as communicating with parents and other professionals in the field.
At this point in my career, I am a 51 days from my first college graduation! At that time, I will progress into a year of graduate studies to obtain a Masters degree in education. I will be looking for a full time teaching position in an elementary school. My favorites are the 3-5 graders, but I will be certified from K-6. I have been eagerly anticipating getting into the field for some time now! =)
I have a passion for technology in education and am currently furthering my studies in that with an Educational Media Minor. I would love to work for a school that is technology-forward so that I can continue to include and expand on those things in my own classroom.
Since coming to college, I have also had a growing interest in children's literature and will be taking an exciting trip to England in May 2008 to study British children's literature. More to come on that!
